Invisible
Written by Alison Marshall, Date
With her mother shedding tears
The child trembles with her fear
Shuffles around to find the face
Watching for a single trace
Waiting for that special sound
A distant shout when you are found.
Stinging eyes with vacant stare
So white I saw you lying there
With spring flowers in your hair
Day after Day
I sit alone and never play
I wait in vain
I dream of you in haunted night
Invisible
Memories of laughter
Memories of games
I listen for your footstep
Time slips away
Too long since we sang songs
Your voice fades away
Note by note, step by step
Invisible
The Rooftop
Written by Alison Marshall, Date
On the Rooftop, with the doves
Where I plan to meet my Love
Dancing in the lunchtime Sun
My spotlight shines from skies above
Below the world around me lay
Moving colours cramp and sway
Distant voices drift my way
With the drama of the day
Youth in all its peacock prance
The roof, a stage on which to dance
A daring pose, a mystic trance
Mirrored by my loves romance
And with each breathe of loves desire
So sweet to savour then expire
A moment caught as time transpires
Echoes sound from passions choir
The Sun Doth Mock
Written by Alison Marshall, Insert Date
O Happy Spring
The sun doth mock
Vain Glorious
In her coloured smock
And all thy suffering
And all thy woe
He burns on brightly
A flower show
What trickery
The gods do laugh
Find Humorous
A burning Path
And in the bigger
scheme of things
Its but a lie
The promise of Spring
A sun so bright
We cannot see
White Luminous,
I cannot breathe
For no colour
Or blue of sky
Can heal this
Bleeding heart of mine
For all the Mayday songs you sing
There is no beauty, alone, in Spring.
Winter
Written by Alison Marshall, Insert Date
Mountain Cold Mist Drifts
Soft, above the barren cliffs
Seeping into rocks
Porous
As Thoughts
River Ice, Moss Grows
Quiet, the stream gently flows
Creeping Waterfalls
Drown
As Voices
Winds Howl, Trees Roar
Fierce, across the Valley Floor
Carving ridges smooth
Erode
As Dreams
Forest Deep, green Glen
Silent, in the night garden
Patient starry skies
Fixed
As Lives
